The size and shape of the bolt
Except for special bolts, there are a total of 15 types of nominal diameters for general bolts ranging from M4 to M36, but most are M10 to M20. The nominal length of bolts is 12 to 95mm. About 250 types of bolts are used in bulldozers and about 130 types in hydraulic excavators.
Most of the bolts used are hexagonal bolts. In addition, there are also socket bolts, flange bolts, eye bolts, etc. There are no bolts of special shapes.
In the past, bolts and corresponding gaskets were managed separately. Later, the combined bolt was developed, which is a flange bolt with a gasket integrated. By using the combined bolt, bolts and gaskets can be managed under one part number, reducing the number of part numbers and miniaturizing the gasket. At the same time, it can also prevent the problem of missing gaskets.
However, at present, the combined bolts are only available in fine diameters of M14 and below. We look forward to an expansion of the combined bolt specifications.
