Fastener installation is a crucial step in ensuring the safe and reliable connection of equipment, pipelines and structures. It must follow a series of standard requirements. The following summarizes common installation requirements for your reference.
Pre-installation Preparation
Material Inspection: Before installation, it is necessary to check whether the fasteners (such as bolts, nuts, gaskets) meet the design requirements, including specifications, materials, grades, etc. The gaskets should be new, clean, dry, and defect-free; the sealing surfaces of the flanges should be free of scratches, corrosion, etc., and if necessary, they need to be repaired or replaced.
Cleaning and Lubrication: The threads and contact surfaces of bolts and nuts should be clean, without dirt, rust, or burrs. Before installation, the threads and the bearing surfaces of the nuts should be coated with a uniform lubricant or a high-temperature anti-sticking agent to ensure a stable friction coefficient and enhance the anti-corrosion performance.
Tool Preparation: Use specialized tools such as torque wrenches and stretchers, and ensure that the tools are calibrated. For high-strength bolts, it is necessary to recheck the torque coefficient or pre-tension according to the specifications.
